She had loved him at first, she reckoned, but he had tormented her so long with his elusiveness that she did not know, honestly, now whether she even liked him.

“If there was anything going on, it didn’t last long because most of our time was taken up with work. It’s true that I had an enormous crush on him. But I was engaged at the time and I even had my wedding gown hanging in the wardrobe of my Roman hotel room. And Greg was married to Greta. I knew he wasn’t happy, that his marriage was not good even though they had three lovely children. Maybe he did feel something for me, maybe there was a little chemistry between us that made our scenes work. I was in Rome, being treated like a princess, and it was not difficult for me to believe I was the princess in the film, and it was not difficult for me to believe I was in love with Gregory Peck.”

I always say my songs are like my children and I expect them to support me when I’m old. If your songs are your children, when one of them becomes a hit, it’s like one of your children’s done really good. Maybe your child has become a banker or a teacher or - in the case of I Will Always Love You - the President.

I bloody love Dolly.

I really like this film. It has so much to say about women and education and friendship. Amazing line up of Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Julia Stiles and Ginnifer Goodwin. Plus the preppy 50s styling is ace.

On the Street Where You Live - My Fair Lady - Jeremy Brett

Aware that this is just becoming a showcase of my girl crushes (more men soon, I promise!) Leighton Meester is just exactly what I want to look like… when they invent that machine where you press a celebrity-shaped button and are instantly transformed. I love her slightly more in her Blair garb though, dolly perfection.

Love this, and these ladies - the soundtrack to my teens (and twenties, and hopefully beyond…)

Also loving every aspect of Beyonce’s new website http://iam.beyonce.com/

Really showing a gorgeous, glowing human side to her as well as the fierce onstage goddess we all know.

My two weaknesses are food and men. In that order.
